The website, some information

This website (Meynstream.com) has been around since 2015. It’s a hobby project, maintained on spare time. New content will be published randomly.

The website: a picture from an Euro Adventure

A memory from the 2021 Euro Adventure. A lot of pics here.

When first setting up this website I had no plan. Nor did I think it would last this long or grow to the size it has, whether we talk posts or images.

Some background

I’ve been on the internet since the beginning of the internet in Norway. Started “blogging” before the word or term blog came into existence (1997). I was, like so many others, very curious about the internet. The network aspect, learn new things, and share information. Being an IT professional web and internet became a natural next field of interest.

Back then web search wasn’t monopolized like it is today. We had different search engines that were half good at different tings. They all looked at the rapidly growing digital universe with slightly different goggles. When I compare that time, with today, it was more chaotic, much more unpredictable. But in many ways more exciting.

The internet wasn’t (over)saturated with social media and fake this or that. Which seems to be yet another sickness of our time and age. People were more inclined to sit down and actually read blog posts. Although, if I were to judge realities based on statistics, TikTok and Youtube hasn’t completely taken over.

The website going forward

I have some plans for it. But since a hobby project, with no business model, sponsors or commercial approach to support it, things will continue in ad-hoc mode. New content will appear if and when there’s something worth publishing.

Currently the content here is mostly leaning towards everything motorcycles. And quite a few posts about rides and adventures. In my country as well as other countries. Among those pages you might perhaps find tips, some of them even useful.

I’ll continue to do “reviews” or impressions, of motorcycles, of tires, of motorcycle extras, gear and equipment. I am not sponsored by anyone, what I write about are things I’ve bought with my own money.

Last but not least I would like to thank you, the visitor and/or reader. The number of visitors have grown steadily over the course of the years. Now and then I get some comments. Based on those I chose to believe at least some of my posts have been informing, or useful.

New functions

While the interface is pretty old now I continue to add or make improvements. You know the saying, “if it works don’t fix it”. And that’s something I stick to. Stated elsewhere on this site “First time fanciness may become tomorrows nuisance”. This is more true today than I ever dreamed it would become years back.

This website will never be “fancy”. But hopefully practical, relevant and easy to navigate.

Last updates

New functions and updates Q4 2025:

  • Collections: to simplify adding references to existing pages and posts (custom plugin).
  • Infoboxes: another custom plugin that permits use of pop-up boxes (or modal windows). Used for explanations to words, terms or contexts.
  • Improved sitemap: now with collapsible sections (also “homegrown”).
  • Notify me on comments on my comments: discretely placed in the comment section on post pages.
  • Improved search: finally decided to do something about an otherwise pretty rubbish search engine. Now it ranks both relevant pages and highlights terms!

Might be coming later: “newsletter” function, allowing people to subscribe to content, while decide update frequency and type of content. I’ve not yet found something that cover the needs, without also including a lot more (plus cost money). The site does have RSS Feed (see icon top right), but it might be a bit old fashioned now.

If you have any comments, or questions, use the contact form. Unless on vacation I usually reply within a few days.
