Reminiscing & consuming, a fools tale

Last Updated on: April 11, 2019

Reminiscing & consuming.   A few days ago a friend shared some links to prog rock music not heard in ages. That sent me into a musical reminiscing mode. One particular song but it did not end there, thankfully.

More about that shortly. On second thought, maybe not so shortly.

A package from Chinesia

Fast forward till today; a new package arrived in the mail, from “Chinesia”. As per previous post, aliexpress.com is an interesting place to shop, for motorcycle stuff, or other stuff.

It offers solutions to your problems, solutions to non existent problems, possibilities to buy stuff you (might) need, and as much, if not more, stuff you don’t need at all. No fear, but more stuff is coming.

This time around I got a set of cylinder guards. It’s the second set, the first I ordered did not fit. That is however, as one says, another story.

Consuming: A set of cylinder guards for the BMW R1200GS Adventure

So yes, back to the topic (if any). This band I came across back in the early days of Myspace. The days of utter social media chaos, instigated by this creation which was both bulls eye and a catastrophe combined.

I made lots of friends, and interesting acquaintances, musicians and band. One of these was an, at the time, up and coming prog rock band called Combination Head.

Reminiscing & consuming

Reminiscing over this era made me remember they (in truth one guy) wrote many (IMO) great songs, and one that applies particularly well to this post.  Which also is about solutions to your problems, solutions to non existent problems, possibilities to buy stuff you (might) need, and as much, if not more, stuff you don’t need at all.

Exactly… Ergo Sum. So there we are. “Consumer Fool”, good song title. Hit me right there and then, like before. While listening I tried to figure out how many more packages I’ve ordered. With solutions to my problems, solutions to non existent problems, with stuff I (might) need, and as much, if not more, stuff I don’t need at all.
